CJ's second birthday was a few weeks ago, and I finally uploaded the photos. We decided to have a low-key birthday since he can be hot or cold mood-wise depending on which way the wind blows. We Decided to spend the day down in Rochester with both sets of grandparents and my BFF, Auntie Amber. We had pizza at a local pizza joint, then went to my in-laws for cake and gifts.
This was a brilliant plan because CJ decided to start getting sick on his birthday, and was in a...fine mood all day (insert eye rolls here). The best part of the day was the big reveal of his birthday cake. I knew it would be well recieved. And oh boy it was!
Our local high end grocery store made the cake, and I was more than pleased...I mean, the digger had actually dug cake. There was "mud" and "dirt" and a BIG DUMP TRUCK. CJ died of excitement when he saw it. And two weeks later, he's still carrying around the dump truck.
He "blew" out his candles (mother assisted) and then dug in. I'm so glad CJ like blue because he was covered in it and pooping it for days later.
He recieved some lovely gifts from our family, including a lovingly restored push sled that was mine as a child. My Dad really did a beautiful job making it nice for CJ. He also received a huge Playmobil zoo set, books, cloths, and lots of TRUCKs from momma and dadda.
It was a chill birthday party, but I will always remember the day my awesome little truck-obsessed, covered in blue, darling boy turned the big TWO.

Awesome cake! He's such a cutie pie! The last photo you posted here is priceless! :)
